Life Exercise is a gentle Tai Chi-based program of exercise on Mondays at 4:30 pm in the Flex Room upstairs. It is open to everyone regardless of physical ability or fitness level. Contact Lee Seaman.
Lunch with Paul! Come brown-bag it with Paul Beckel on Tuesdays at noon for an open discussion forum on a wide variety of topics.
Community Dinners are on Wednesdays from 6 to 8, September through June. Menus are announced in advance. This is a great low-cost way to have dinner out while socializing with others.
Dining with Friends is a program of small groups that gather around food and conversation once a month from October through May.
A Mindfulness Meditation group meets each Thursday, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm upstairs. Following the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, you can participate in meditation, study, discussion and chanting. Chairs are provided; bring a cushion if you wish. Contact David Gillespie.
Once a year, in the Spring, we have our BUF Women’s Retreat at Camp Casey. It is a place to relax, have fun, make new friends, and spend time engaging with old friends. Attendees stay for the weekend, enjoying meals together in the canteen along with a variety of enlightening and creative programs, all while exploring the bond of sisterhood. Our Choral Program led by our Musical Director, Kevin Allen-Schmid, is an enthusiastic approach to the uplifting attributes of all types of music. From haunting classical to raise-the-roof international, all of our music shares a common theme: it enhances the worship experience.
On Sunday from 9:15 am to 10:15 am, Sunday Forums are presented in our Conference Room on the first floor. Speakers and topics vary from health and nutrition to social justice Issues to travelogues. All are welcome!
