BUF is a member of Family Promise of Whatcom County which is an interfaith hospitality network of over 30 local faith congregations under the Interfaith Coalition and working with the Opportunity Council. Family Promise is an umbrella of services seeking to provide shelter to homeless families, along with intensive case management, financial counseling, and connections to local resources. For one week at a time (four times each year), BUF is a support congregation to host congregation Garden Street Methodist which provides overnight lodging, meals, and hospitality for three to four families daily from 5:30 pm to 7:00 am.

We have over 35 volunteers from BUF who provide food, supplies, overnight hosting, hospitality, and activities for children. If you would like to learn more, check out Family Promise National or Family Promise of Whatcom County and the Interfaith Coalition.
