Genia Allen-Schmid taught high school history and international studies in Montana, and at International Schools in Germany, Spain, and Tanzania for over 30 years. With a BA in International Studies and a Masters Degree in Education, Genia has always had a passion for all things international and educational, including world travel, foreign students, and international social justice issues.
Although raised a Methodist, Genia has been an active Unitarian since 1991 and was an active member of Glacier Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Kalispell, Montana, for 23 years. Genia, and her husband, Kevin, moved to Bellingham in 2015, and Genia accepted the permanent Director of Lifelong Learning position in May, 2019 after being Interim Director and falling in love with the job! She enjoys developing and supporting programing for all ages and working with such a positive community.
